Making Strides Against Breast Cancer - Fenwick Island, DE

On October 25, 2008 the Carl M. Freeman Foundation co-sponsored the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk to benefit the American Cancer Society.  Families and friends came out to walk and cheer others on as we raised awareness about breast cancer.  Proceeds from the walk, the bake sale, and the auction went to the American Cancer Society.

Free Theatre at the Beach Festival - Ocean View, De

Each summer, the foundation holds a Free Theatre at the Beach Festival featuring plays or musicals for the whole family.  In 2008, the Freeman Summer Stage went on the road for two performances with Clear Space Productions' South Pacific.  Shown at both the Freeman Stage at Bayside and the outdoor ampitheatre at Bear Trap Dunes, the Broadway classic drew nearly 3,000 people!

Past productions – with crowds of nearly 500 theater lovers at each evening performance -- have included:

Morgan Arts Council Summer Concert Series - Berkeley Springs, WV

The Carl M. Freeman Foundation is proud to have sponsored the 2007 Morgan Arts Council Summer Concert Series. The free concert series offered something for every taste from rockabilly and hillbilly tunes to modern jazz, reggae and African drums. During its 21 year history, the series has drawn more than 40,000 attendees.

Music at Marketplace - Ranson, WV

Free family friendly concerts are held at The Marketplace at Potomac Towne Center in Ranson, West Virginia on the Charles C. Marcus Football Field (behind the Weis Supermarket).

Our 2007 schedule included the South Mountain String Band & RockCandy Cloggers; The Grandsons, and Hot Soup! These bands brought old time mountain music, rockabilly tunes and acoustic tunes to the Eastern Panhandle of WV for more than 1,000 neighbors to enjoy.

“It was a wonderful evening lifting up the virtues of faith, hope and charity. The playwright was certainly inspired…What a privilege to witness.”
